In 2017 the first grade side came agonisingly close to claiming back-to-back premierships, losing to Henwood Park in a penalty shoot-out, in what many regarded as the best game of local soccer the region has seen in many years. The reserve grade team finished the year strongly, just missing out on a finals appearance. Third grade also had some great wins during the season. Like first grade, the Over 35’s team fell at the final hurdle, a painful loss on grand final day.
This year, the club had a positive pre-season training campaign, led by new men’s coach, Mitchell Tinnock. A core group of experienced leaders, along with young players who have progressed through junior Shark teams and a sprinkling of players new to the club should create a good mix of experience and youth, a great formula for another tilt at premiership glory. Motivation levels are high, bring on 2018!
